A living legend and historical figure of the Art Ensemble of Chicago, which he has continually enriched with his research on Afro-Caribbean music, Famoudou Don Moye is a regular at the festival. For this exclusive creation, the American drummer brings together an ensemble of percussion and brass instruments and embarks on a journey through traditional African music, as he has experienced it throughout his life during numerous stays in Morocco, Liberia, Guinea, and Senegal, as well as as it is passed down by the diasporas. A tireless ambassador of this music, Famoudou Don Moye now divides his time between workshops he offers to musicians, his personal research, his garden in Marseille, and concerts that are as rare as they are unmissable.
